Frequently asked questions.

What is a modular structure?

Because a modular structure is more like a permanent structure, built to your specification from an anodized aluminium frame with galvanized steel fixings, this guarantees the strength and durability to work in many environments.

Although the structures are referred to as “temporary”, many clients use them as semi-permanent and permanent solutions to meet their business needs.

What are the advantages of using anodized aluminium in modular structures?

Not only is aluminium an extremely durable, it is a sustainable, reusable and recyclable material which is inexpensive. Addtionally, it has a comparable load capacity to buildings engineered with other metals. Because aluminium frames are lightweight, they can be installed onto the ground without the need for foundations.

How does a modular structure compare with traditional buildings?

The main differences are cost and time.

Basically, a permanent build onsite, with foundations and ground works, can take many months and it can come at a very high cost.

Where the modular structure really comes into its own is in providing a semi-permanent solution, (comparable to a permanent build), which you can have onsite for just as long as you need it.

Above all, a modular structure can be installed within a couple of weeks, subject to the building specification, and at a fraction of the cost of a permanent build.

Should I rent or buy a modular structure?

As well as renting modular structures, HR Structures also sell modular structures. Our cost-effective structure hire is available with flexible contracts, so we can quickly disassemble and remove your structure if you no longer require it.

PURCHASE, RENTAL OR LEASE PURCHASE?

At HR Structures we recognise that your needs can differ. That’s why we provide a wide range of competitively priced structures to suit a variety of applications. We also aim to provide you with the ideal funding method to suit your specific requirements. HR Structures buildings can be rented, lease purchased or purchased outright.

RENTAL

If you’re unsure about how long you require a modular structure, then the rental option is most likely right for you. Renting provides total flexibility since you can “off-hire” the structure at the end of the agreed rental period or extend the rental period for a further term.

LEASE-PURCHASE

Clients can rent the structure from us for an agreed amount of time with a pre-determined purchase amount, payable at the end of the pre-agreed fixed rental term. The customer benefits by having total flexibility of ownership options.

OUTRIGHT PURCHASE

If you choose the purchase option, it is important to note that the structure will always remain as a marketable asset. As our structures are fully demountable when it is no longer required, and can be repurposed, meaning it can be sold to other industries for use.

What are the dimensions of a modular structure?

HR Structures buildings are available in span widths of 5.00 to 30.00m (at a bay distance of 5.00m) and side heights of 4.20m to 6.20m (at a distance of 1m). Additionally, they are extendable in unlimited lengths in 5.00m bays. Custom dimensions can be manufactured on request.

Which wall and roof system should I choose?

We provide expert advice on what type of wall and roof system is suitable for your modular structure. There are four systems to choose from, PVC, corrugated steel sheets, sandwich panel, and Thermo insulation.

PVC

Not only is this robust and cost-effective material manufactured in-house, it is made from highly tear-resistant industrial grade PVC and is flame retardant according to DIN4102-B1. Additionally, the material is designed for longevity, durability, and fast installation, ensuring a rapid assembly for the complete temporary structure.

Corrugated Steel Sheet

Corrugated steel sheet is another wall and roof system that provides temperature control and air circulation. Steel sheet has a long service life and requires minimal maintenance. Additionally, solar panels can be installed.

Sandwich Panels

HR-Structures uses heat-insulating and low-maintenance sandwich panels. These consist of two steel outer shells that is embedded with a foam core made of polyurethane or mineral wool. The smart design significantly reduces the amount of heat generated, and equally beneficial is the resulting noise protection.

Thermo Insulation Roof System

This double layered roof combines intelligent membrane technology with gable cladding to ensure condensation is avoided and a degree of thermal insulation is achieved. The double layered sections of the roof are inflated with air which creates this additional insulation and protection as well as minimising any structural noises.
